Middlesex University Learning Resource Centres - Access Policy

Learning Resources (LR) is responsible for a wide range of services within University buildings and is committed to open access for Middlesex staff and students and its wider communities.  This document aims to advise all users on access arrangements.

Learning Resources provides access to Learning Resource Centres (LRCs), (libraries, computing rooms and a variety of specialist facilities) and seeks to work within a Health and Safety framework and code of conduct as outlined in the LRC rules.  These can be found at:  http://www.lr.mdx.ac.uk/Rules/rules.htm.

Access to Learning Resource Centres

To enter an LRC, all users must identify themselves in the manner prescribed below.  All access to LRCs is at the discretion of the Customer Services Manager – On Campus Services, or his/her delegated representative. 

Middlesex University staff and students may enter provided they carry one of the following:  a current MU student or staff card, an access control card or, in the case of the hospital campuses, an NHS ID card.

Other Users fall into the following categories:

• MU Alumni: may enter carrying a valid Alumni Association membership card
• SCONUL Access: may enter carrying a valid SCONUL access card plus own Institution’s card
• Collaborative Partners: may enter carrying a valid college card or MU ID card
• Test centre candidates: may enter carrying confirmation of their testVisitors: may enter carrying proof of identity, provided prior agreement has been reached with the reception team

Please note that in all instances the first visit must take place between 09:00 – 17:00 on Monday – Friday

Museum of Domestic Architecture

Archway and Hospitals Campus

Anyone wishing to enter the LRCs at Archway and the North Middlesex and Chase Farm hospital campuses should contact them directly.
