Document Provision:How to renew a book
Books are issued to your library record on the day they are put in the post. It is, therefore, worth checking your library record regularly to make sure that you have received the items on your record and that they have been taken off your record after you might reasonably have expected them to have arrived back at the library.
To look at your library record:
- Go to the library catalogue and click on My Account
- Your Borrower ID is your student number eg M00012345
- Your PIN is your date of birth entered as in 6 figure format (ddmmyy)
- Click on login
From here you may see the personal details which we hold about you along with the details of the items which you have on loan and any fines you have incurred. You will NOT see details of books you have requested because these will be reserved on your behalf by the DLSU and will not appear on your account.
To renew the books on loan:
- Go to checked out. Here you will find details of all the items currently on loan to you, when they are due for return and how many times you have renewed them.
- Click on the box to the left of those items you wish to renew.
- Click renew at the top or bottom of the screen
If you are unable to renew your books, please contact the Web Helpdesk or telephone +44(0)220 8411 6068 (10:00 - 17:00 UK) stating that you are a distance learner.
Remember that it will take your books several working days to return to the library and, therefore, you should renew them at the time of postage to avoid fines.
